Nepal Satellite Telecom Pvt. Limited has been registered with Company Registrar Office from the Government of Nepal on 01/07/2005 and it acquired license and GSM 900/1800 spectrum from Nepal Telecom Authority on 17/02/2008 with an objective to provide telephone services in Nepal.

Gramintel is a leading telecom operator in Nepal since its inception in 2003. Under license from Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), Gramintel provides basic subscriber line, international long distance, payphone, wireless services, internet and telecenter services in Nepal. Gramintel today has expanded its network in more than 50 districts of Nepal and now enjoys a strong nationwide presence. Gramintel operates the largest PCO network in Nepal. Gramintel started the first Rural Tele-medicine in Nepal and is also building other applications like Virtual Community Schools on its ICT backbone.
